About Me
I was born in November 1983. Ever since I was a child, I've been interested in Spirituality and Psychology. I would wander around thinking - what is it all about? Why do we behave the way we do? What happens when we die? And how come I can fly out of my body at night and have amazing lucid dream adventures?! Very soon I discovered Philosophy of the East and found there descriptions of the things I was experiencing. Because of a burning desire to find out more about the mind's abilities and human being in general I chose to study Psychology, expecting to receive the answers to all my questions. But I realized that Classical Psychology wasn't enough for me - Transpersonal Psychology seemed to make much more sense, but still, it was just a theory. My curiosity had no end, I wanted to travel deeper into gaining knowledge and an understanding of who We are. During and after my studies, I furthered my education by taking part in various courses and workshops, applying different spiritual practices to my daily life - ever searching for so called 'my thing'. Around that time, I started practicing Hatha Yoga, which led to the realization that teaching Yoga could be one of the most natural ways of expressing my inner potential.
Over the past five years, I have travelled extensively, living in many different places, such as - New York, Barcelona, India, France, and London - which is where I've settled. Observing the many cultures gave me the opportunity to recognize the so called, 'Unity in Diversity' - I found myself, comfortably and naturally, communicating the universal language with people from varied religious and cultural backgrounds. I have worked as a waitress, a promoter, a hostess, and a sales assistant - in order to maintain myself during my self-educational travels.
I believe that serving each other with joy and humility is our constitutional position. In several professions, my main responsibility has been to serve the 'food' for satisfaction of people's material senses. However, deep down inside, I have always known that my main responsibility as a spiritual being was, and is, to serve the 'food' for the souls or at least - as a yoga teacher and psychologist - to share the knowledge and tools which help to heal and balance the body and the mind and create the space where The Soul can naturally express itself as Sat - eternal presence, Chit - consciousness and Ananda - bliss.
Hopefully, my yoga classes emphasize mindful awareness, with a strong focus on proper breathing and relaxation. I encourage my students to experience postures in their own unique way, which helps to avoid competition, and encourages them to go deeper with their awareness into their bodies. My aim is that students leave the class energized, with a positive feeling of release and letting go - which they can then recall in day to day life.
My teachers taught me that a good yoga teacher is also a good student. Indeed, every class brings me new insights which helps me to develop, not only as a yoga teacher, but also as a person.
